Summer in Prairie Village is the time to kick back, relax and connect with neighbors.
And to facilitate the kind of community spirit that makes Prairie Village such a great place to live, Southminster Presbyterian is bringing back its summer Southminster Cafe music series.
Combining great music with light refreshments, the music cafes are the perfect place to spend an evening catching up with old friends — and maybe even meeting some new ones.
“We love to open up our doors and let the community gather for an evening of fun,” said Southminster Pastor Jeff Clayton. “The Southminster Cafe is a night of great music and great company.”
This Friday, June 22, Southminster welcomes “Sweet & Low,” a jazz guitar and vocals duo made up of St. Louis residents Celia Shacklett and Adam Wilke. Wilke, an SM East and University of Kansas graduate, will be making his fifth appearance at Southminster. As “Sweet & Low,” Shacklett and Wilke perform standards and popular favorites using innovative two-guitar arrangements. The set list includes classic favorites like “Mack the Knife,” “Til there was you,” and more.
