RED Development is finalizing the details of a planning process for development of the Mission Valley Middle School site, and aims to present its proposal to the Prairie Village city council on Monday.
RED spokesman Dave Claflin said the group hoped to begin hosting a series of around six focus groups once the city and the company had come to terms on the schedule for the planning process. After the focus groups have been completed, the company may move into a phase where they presented the community with a handful of options for the site, seeking feedback. Full details of the process are likely to emerge at Monday’s council meeting.
Regardless of the specifics, Claflin said the company is looking to have the planning phase completed within the next four of five months.
“We would like to have that phase of things wrapped up by the first of the year,” he said.
