Macy’s cuts ribbon on remodeled store

Mayor Shaffer and Macy's manager James King cut the ribbon on the remodeled store.

Mayor Ron Shaffer and members of the city council joined the Northeast Johnson County Chamber of Commerce and Macy’s staff Thursday morning for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Macy’s remodeled Prairie Village store.

As part of the renovations the main store received, the home store, which had been located in the suite on the Village Shops mall next to Einstein Brothers for more than a decade, has been moved to the third floor of the main store.

Macy’s will be holding an event this Saturday celebrating the remodeling. The first 150 customers through the door will get a $10 savings card.

We’ll post an update if we find out more about what might go into the old home store space, or whether the CID redevelopments are likely to impact the main Macy’s structure.
