Clara Schumann: the Virtuoso, the Muse and her Legacy
NAVO is proud to present a concert in honor of the 200th anniversary of the great artist Clara Schumann. Regarded as one of the most distinguished pianists of the Romantic era, she exerted her influence over a 61-year concert career, transforming the piano recital from displays of virtuosity to programs of serious works. She composed solo works for her instrument, a piano concerto, chamber music, choral pieces, and songs.
This concert will feature acclaimed recitalist, recording artist, pianist Steven Spooner. Grammy Award winning tenor David Adams and Patricia Thompson, soprano, from the Spire Chamber Ensemble will be highlighted in Clara Schumann’s Lieder (Songs). This concert marks the first collaboration between the Spire Chamber Ensemble and NAVO.
This program will also feature young-artist pianist Evangeliya Delizonas-Khukhua along with our founders - violinist, Veronique Mathieu and Sunnat Ibrahim, cello. The concert will be curated by American Musicologist - Dr. Paul Laird.
Admission is free, and seats can be reserved online at www.navoarts.com
