Water Issues in the Kansas River Basin

August 13 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

Climate change and land use practices are negatively impacting Midwest watersheds, including the Kansas River. In northeast Kansas, the Kaw has long been used for wildlife habitat, drinking water, food fish and recreation. But for how much longer?
Brad Bradley, chair of the Kansas River Regional Advisory Council, will present on water quality and quantity issues in the Kansas River system and what we can do about them. The Kansas RAC is focused on implementation of the Kansas Basin Watershed Management (KBWM) system to help limit nutrients, sediment and the duration of harmful algal blooms.
