Sierra Club: Building a Resilient Third Congressional District

August 14 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

From concrete jungles to sprawling suburbs to open pastures, the Third U.S. Congressional District is our country in microcosm. So what would a sustainable and resilient infrastructure look like for Wyandotte, Johnson, and Miami Counties? What are the problem areas with our infrastructure? How do we prioritize solving these problems? What are our successes? Is what we have built ultimately unsustainable, or are we one innovation away from fixing our problems? How can the representative we elect help ensure that where we live, work, and play will remain for future generations?

Speakers:
Tom Jacobs, Director of Environmental Programs at Mid-America Regional Council
Ward Lyles, Assistant Professor of Urban Development at the University of Kansas
