John E. Yoakum, 64, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023. Rosary will be 4:45 PM with a visitation from 5-7:00 PM on Monday, September 18, 2023 at the Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia St., Lenexa, KS. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, September 19, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 13615 W. 92nd Lenexa, KS 66215. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sister Servants of Mary, 800 N 18 St,, Kansas City, KS 66102.

John was born January 16, 1959, in Kansas City, KS to Norman and Therese (Dearborn) Yoakum. He graduated from K-State University and received his Professional Engineer Certificate as a civil engineer. He enjoyed golf, playing cards and reading. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Joan Pyle. He is survived by Chandler and Logan Horst, sisters Jane Yoakum, Jean (Jeff) Manning, Jennifer (Andy) Bartolac, nieces and nephews; Jerad, Conrad, Creighton, Christina, Jason, Justin, Brady, Sidney, James, Nick, and many cousins and extended family.
