GoodVets, a Chicago-based animal hospital, is now open for business in Prairie Village.
The national chain partners with local veterinarians, in this case Julie Bradford, to open local clinics.
GoodVets Prairie Village is now one of three tenants of the newly redeveloped U.S. Bank at the Shops of Prairie Village at 6934 Mission Road.
Bradford, who graduated from Shawnee Mission East, said the Prairie Village location started seeing pets last month.
Bradford has control over JoCo locations
- There is also a GoodVets clinic at Mission Farms in Leawood, which opened last year, that Bradford also runs.
- GoodVets is different from typical corporate partnership in veterinary clinics, where a company dictates many on-site decisions, Bradford said.
- Bradford said it’s important for her to have control to be able to treat pets in the best way she sees fit.
- “It’s a really nice model of partnering with local owners and giving the local owner full medical control,” Bradford said.
Wellness plans are available at GoodVets
- The plan, which acts like a membership, encompasses all preventative and wellness care for $99 a month, Bradford said.
- That includes vaccines, unlimited exams, annual lab work, full dental evaluation and heartworm, flea and tick prevention.
- Bradford said clients do not need to be on a wellness plan to visit GoodVets.
- “We genuinely want to get to know our clients and their patients,” Bradford said. “They’re smaller clinics so we can offer more personalized care.”
There is an open house Saturday
- GoodVets is open from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, for the open house, Bradford said.
- Attendees can expect a wine and cheese selection and giveaways to accompany the tour of the space and meet-and-greets with staff.
- This is just for the Prairie Village location, Bradford said.
