- The Mission City Council will host a special public hearing tonight at 6:30 p.m. on proposed public financing for the latest version of the Mission Gateway plan.
- The Overland Park City Council’s Public Works Committee meets at 7 p.m. tonight and is set to vote on a number of agreements and bids related to various road maintenance projects.

- A Leawood man was arrested in Manhattan, Kan., last weekend following a domestic violence incident. Ronald Saunders, 22 was arrested and booked into the Riley County jail on aggravated domestic battery, failure to appear and violation of a protection order. [WIBW]
- The Johnson County Board of County Commissioners last week voted to authorize the issuance of up to $600,000 in annual contracts with Hy-Vee grocery stores and IHOP restaurants, to provide nutritious meals for older adults through the county’s Choosing Healthy Appetizing Meal Plan Solutions for Seniors, or CHAMPSS, program. - The Johnson County Library’s Gardner branch will be closed from Wednesday, Oct. 5, through mid-December so that the roof can be replaced and upgrades made to the building’s plumbing and mechanical systems. [Fox 4]
