According to the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment, local COVID-19 cases are again on the rise as the newest subvariant of Omicron, known as BA.2, continues to spread.

The numbers: As of Friday morning, the county’s COVID-19 dashboard is reporting a positivity rate of 176 per 100,000 residents over the past seven days.
