  • The Old Man and the Old Moon premiers at the KC Repertory Theatre tonight at 7 p.m. The fable will be performed by live folk musicians and will run through May 22. Get ticketing information here.
  • Join KC Symphony musicians tonight for a free concert. Music Box @ Gillham Park will begin at 6:30 p.m. in KCMO. Learn more.
  • Looking to catch some live music tonight? Check out H.E.R., an R&B singer, performing tonight at Starlight Theatre in Kansas City, MO. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.

  • The Lenexa City Council will meet tonight at 7 p.m. at Lenexa city hall. The Lenexa Arts Council will give their annual report among other discussions. See the full agenda.

  • Over 30 students at Sumner Academy in Kansas City, KS left school on Friday to find their cars damaged by vandals who broke windows and stole items from some of the vehicles. Police are investigating the incident. [Kansas City Star]
  • The Fulbright U.S. Student Program this year is recognizing 2021 KU graduate Annie Cortes and current KU senior Kayla Craigmile. Cortes has been offered a grant to serve as an English teaching assistant in Taiwan and Craigmile was selected as an alternate to attend the University College of London’s Institute of Education master’s program in applied linguistics.   • The Shawnee Fire Department is in the final stages of completing the strategic plan for 2022-2025. This comes after the department invited residents to participate in a survey and attend an external stakeholder meeting to share their opinions and feedback.
