Shawnee Mission will require all students in all schools to wear masks until Feb. 15

Shawnee Mission South students wear masks in class last semester.

Shawnee Mission secondary students and staff will all be required to wear a mask as of Jan. 24. The board of education unanimously approved universal masking until Feb. 15, although it could be extended at the board's Feb. 14 meeting. Shawnee Mission will require all students, staff and visitors to wear masks in all the district’s schools through at least Feb. 15.

The move approved by the board of education Monday night temporarily suspends the district’s COVID-19 mitigation plan for the current semester.
