Lane closures on Prairie Star Parkway coming this week at K-7 interchange
The city of Lenexa is kicking off improvements to the interchange of K-7 Highway and Prairie Star Parkway beginning with lane closures on Monday.
One lane of the Prairie Star Parkway bridge over K-7 will be closed starting Monday, July 26, for several weeks. One lane of through traffic on Prairie Star Parkway will be maintained in each direction.
This work is being completed as part of the Prairie Star Parkway/K-7 interchange improvement project, which is expected to last about six months, weather permitting. Ramp closures are planned to begin in late August or September, with lane closures occurring throughout the project.
St. Joseph Church in Shawnee hosting blood drives July 26-27
St. Joseph Church in downtown Shawnee and the Community Blood Center will host two blood drives on Monday, July 26, and Tuesday July 27, from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 11221 Johnson Drive.
The blood donations are designed to help meet hospitals’ need as they ramp up operations due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Merriam to host open house for Merriam Drive plan
The city of Merriam will host a Merriam Drive Connected Corridor Plan open house on July 28.
In connection with the cities of Overland Park, Mission and Kansas City, Kan., Merriam will ask for the public’s input on Merriam Drive street redesign from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Merriam Community Center.
