Updates from Johnson County Community College: Propel your career with JCCC’s Paralegal program

Paralegal courses follow a very practical approach to education. As students learn the fundamentals of the law, they will put their knowledge directly into practice.

The Paralegal program at JCCC is approved by the American Bar Association (ABA) and includes skilled instructors with over 40 years of educational excellence. This program gives students the tools to begin careers in private law firms, corporate legal departments or government agencies.

What to Expect

This program prepares students for a successful career as a paralegal. Students will learn to investigate, draft legal documents and research legal precedent under the direction and supervision of an attorney.

Like many of our credit programs, Paralegal courses follow a very practical approach to education. As students learn the fundamentals of the law, they will put their knowledge directly into practice. Assignments mimic real-world experiences professional paralegals might encounter.

Students will have the opportunity to build an online portfolio to showcase to future employers, while also developing research, writing, analysis and communication skills.
