Kansas City, Mo., Police chased the vehicle, a black Dodge Avenger, south to Interstate 435 and then west into Kansas.

The suspect exited to Metcalf Avenue, where he sped northbound. Officers continued chasing the driver north to Kansas City, Kansas, where the driver exited to Shawnee Drive. The chase continued south back into northeastern Johnson County on Mission Road.

Officers chased the suspect vehicle onto Shawnee Mission Parkway, where he turned onto Roeland Drive and continued north to Johnson Drive. The chase went west on Johnson Drive, through downtown Mission.

The suspect vehicle ran over stop sticks at least three times, flattening all but one tire.

A Johnson County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit was able to spin the suspect vehicle out twice. First at Johnson Drive and Beverly and then a second time at Johnson Drive and Barkley.

The pursuit ended shortly after 1 a.m., following the second spinout at Johnson Drive and Barkley in Mission. Officers, with the assistance of the K-9, were able to pull the driver, who didn’t have clothing on, from his vehicle and take him into custody.

The suspect, only identified as a man in his 30s, was transported by Johnson County Med-Act to the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas, for treatment of minor injuries from the dog bite.

Kansas City, Mo., Police Sergeant Jake Becchina said the pursuit began following a report of an attempted rape at 40th and Troost.

“The victim stated a black male suspect approached her naked as she sat at the bus stop. The male grabbed her putting his hand around her mouth pulling her away,” Becchina wrote. “He continued trying to pull her away but was unsuccessful. The victim gave a description of the suspect vehicle. The vehicle was located several times in the area but eluded officers. The vehicle was again located and pursued into Mission, KS where the suspect was taken into custody.”
