Lane closures begin on I-35 for widening project near 75th St

The Kansas Department of Transportation this week began the lane widening project on I-35 from south of 67th Street to south of 75th Street. The majority of the work is expected to occur during daylight; however, night work will also occur during particular phases of construction.

The project is expected to be completed in late November. The southbound exit ramp from I-35 to 75th Street and the on-ramp from 75th Street to I-35 will be closed till about mid-July.

Traffic will be controlled with barriers, traffic cones and signage. KDOT is suggesting motorists take alternative routes. The detour route for the lane widening project is 75th Street to Antioch Road to Shawnee Mission Parkway.

The Department of Motor Vehicles Offices in Mission and Olathe will be closed to the public starting March 25. Gov. The city will post on the website and its social media pages when a date is selected, and encourages residents to check with their trash service provider on the yard waste services it might provide.
