Best Bets for the Weekend: Dino O’Dell, Pi Day – Canceled Shawnee Parade

Tomorrow is Friday the 13th, followed by Pi Day on Saturday and it’s the weekend before St. Patrick’s Day. So there really should be plenty of fun and mischief to be had for the whole family this weekend.

  • Dino O’Dell will perform tomorrow morning at the Johnson County Museum. Dino blends folk-rock and reggae in his interactive songs and tall tales to stir imagination, inspire curiosity, and engage the whole child.
  • Let’s talk pie. I can never decide between berry, chocolate cream or lemon meringue. Luckily this Pi Day I don’t have to – the Upper Crust Bakery in Old Overland Park is selling 3 slices for $14 on Saturday to celebrate 3.14.
  • UPDATE: PARADE CANCELLED – Aren’t St. Patrick’s Day parades just the most fun? Shawnee’s is this Sunday afternoon and is one of the best around. After checking out the floats, enjoy food and Irish folk music at the Shawnee Knights of Columbus and enter a duck into the Shawnee Sister Cities Duck Race.
