Best Bets for the Weekend: Donuts, SMSD forum, Sporting watch party

Donuts a la Julia.

Whether you’re civic-minded, a sports fan, or you just love donuts there should be something fun for you to do this weekend. And if you’re all three? Don’t worry, you don’t have to choose – make the rounds with these best bets for the weekend:

  • Tomorrow is Donutology Day at Wonderscope. Watch how donuts are made and then decorate your very own donut. Included with museum admission and free for museum members. While supplies last.
  • If you’re a reader of this site you are probably aware that the Shawnee Mission School District has been working through a difficult time between the administration and teachers. What’s next? Education First Shawnee Mission and the Shawnee Mission Post will host a community Q&A session this Saturday with Shawnee Mission Board of Education President Heather Ousley on the outcome of this year’s teachers contract negotiations and where the district and teachers must go from here.
  • The weekends have been feeling sort of empty now that football is over. I’m excited for Corinth Square’s first away match watch party of the 2020 Sporting Season. It should be a beautiful day to bring the family and get started on the soccer season.
