Best Bets for the Weekend: Be your own valentine

Julia Westhoff - February 13, 2020 11:00 am
Catch True Lions Friday night at City Center Live in Lenexa.

It’s Valentine’s Day weekend and we live in a place that produces Andre’s, Christopher Elbow and Russell Stover chocolates. What a life. After your done stuffing chocolates in your face make sure to head out to any of these fun events:

  • I’m definitely biased since Alison is our piano teacher, but True Lions is a fantastic band and you’ll regret it if you don’t see them Friday night at Lenexa’s City Center Live.
  • If you’ve never been to the Prairie Village Arts Council events you’re missing out. Stop by for the art reception featuring photography by Wendy Delzeit, Ken Sabatini and Lauran Jackson at 6 on Friday, then stay for the Westwood Ensemble Quintet.
  • Looking for some Valentine’s time with your spouse but lacking a sitter? The City of Shawnee has got you covered. Bring your children to Kids Night Out at the Shawnee Civic Centre. Dinner, games, crafts, free play, a snack and a movie are all on tap.
