Overland Park Police are investigating a single vehicle crash which occurred in the 6900 block of Metcalf Avenue aroud 9:45 p.m. Sunday.

Early reports from the scene indicate the driver told police and firefighters that she suffered a medical emergency while driving southbound on Metcalf.

The vehicle struck a tree after leaving the road.
A witness, who did not want to share his name, says the woman’s SUV crossed into the northbound lanes, hit a street light pole, and then a tree. The witness says he used a fire extinguisher on the SUV to “keep it from catching fire.”
