End Citizens United announces endorsement of Sharice Davids in congressional race. End Citizens United, an advocacy group focused on reforming campaign finance, on Tuesday announced it was endorsing Shawnee Democrat Sharice Davids in the Kansas 3rd District Congressional race. “Americans are fed up with a system where those who write the biggest checks have the biggest say,” said ECU President Tiffany Miller. “Sharice Davids will fight for reform so that every Kansan has a voice in government and Congress focuses on the best interest of the people, not mega donors and special interests.”

Johnson County says report on failure of election software could come “as soon as next week.” Johnson County officials on Tuesday said they believed ES&S, the company the board awarded a $10.5 million contract for new voting machines, was getting close to being able to report back on the error that caused massive reporting wait times after the primary. “We expect to have information from Election Systems & Software’s evaluation as soon as next week,” said Jody Hanson, the county’s director of public affairs and communications. “When the information becomes available, we will send a release that includes what happened, what is being done to correct the problem, and what testing is being done before the next election.” ES&S issued a statement the day after the election saying that the “ES&S development team is working around the clock, performing a forensic analysis, to identify the root cause of the slow results reporting.”
