Roeland Park sees spike in residential remodeling projects. Roeland Park has issued 11 permits for residential home remodels so far in 2018, at a value of $524,000. “In my mind, that’s a really good indicator that people are investing in the properties that they own,” said city assistant administrator Jennifer Jones-Lacy. While the figure is lower than what the city received in 2017 it is still higher than what the city had in most prior years, said Jones-Lacy. The city has issued 257 total building permits for residential and commercial improvements with a value of $2.5 million so far this year. Improvements range from McDonald’s exterior improvements, new signage for businesses, and new driveways and roofs for residential homes.
