Updates from Johnson County Community College: Transforming our Student Center

You’re up-to-speed on our new Career and Technical Education center. And you have the scoop on the Fine Arts & Design Studios building that’s coming to life on campus. Now, we want to share the upgrades we have planned for the JCCC Student Center.

We’re creating an enhanced campus “front door” that will transform how current and prospective students engage with the College. This involves refacing the Student Center and making it a recognizable focal point when entering campus.

We’re also tackling interior renovations, including a completely re-imagined first floor with student success top of mind. What is currently a transactional space will transition into a student engagement hub. Upon completion, the first floor will be home to Admissions, Student Activities, the Bursar and U.S. Bank. Not to mention the existing C-Store will be merged with a brand-new coffee shop. By consolidating these offerings, we are able to more effectively serve our students in every step of their educational journey – from touring campus to finding clubs and organizations to join.

Dr. Randy Weber, Vice President of Student Success and CSAO, says, “We are excited to have the opportunity to integrate the first floor of the Student Center into an essential part of the student experience. From helping current students get involved on campus to showcasing all JCCC has to offer to prospective students, we look forward to the changes on the horizon.”

Renovation Timeline

The Student Center renovations are projected to conclude in October 2019. We will provide updates throughout the process to help students, faculty, staff and community members navigate these changes. As always, we appreciate your support and patience as we continue to improve campus for our students.
