Best Bets for the Weekend: The county fair, a dive in movie and a duck race

School may start next week…but summer is still in full swing here in Johnson County, and the weekend fun options have never been better:

  • There’s quite like a county fair, and it’s not too late to head out to Gardner for the Johnson County Fair. Enjoy livestock shows, carnival rides and shows along with all the fried food you can eat.
  • Get psyched to go back to school with Theatre in the Park’s High School Musical. Troy, Gabriella and the students of East High must deal with issues of first love, friends and family while balancing their classes and extra curricular activities.
  • Is there anything more quintessentially summer than watching movies in a pool? Take the whole family to the Mission Family Aquatic Center for a dive in movie on Friday night. Finding Dory begins at 8:30.
  • Get all your ducks in a row on Saturday morning at the Great Duck Race at the Blue Valley Activity Center. Up to 250 ducks will compete to be the first to cross the finish line.
