Gun goes off at Johnson County Park and Recreation District day camp. A 10 year old boy brought a gun to a Johnson County Park and Recreation District day camp held at the New Century Fieldhouse and accidentally set it off when he was rummaging around his backpack, parks officials said Tuesday. No one was injured in the incident, and camp organizers ended the day’s activities at that point and had parents come pick up their children. The boy who brought the gun to camp will not be allowed to attend the rest of the week. [10-year-old boy brings gun to Johnson County camp, accidentally discharges in backpack — WDAF]
