Double Up Food Bucks partners celebrate three years of growth. Representatives of Double Up Food Bucks, the program that extends the purchasing power of food stamps when they’re used on fresh fruits and vegetables, gathered at the Roeland Park Price Chopper to celebrate three years of the program’s growth in the area. Local farmers markets, including the Overland Park Farmers Market, and Balls Foods stores participate in the program. Balls COO Mike Beal said the program is growing in popularity at their stores. “Our customers earned seven times more incentives in June 2018, compared to June 2017,” Beal said. “And the dollars redeemed in June of this year are 20 times higher.”
