Donut legend’s rotator cuff injury has Fluffy Fresh closed ‘for an unknown time’ in Mission

Fluffy Fresh on Johnson Drive is closed while the owner nurses a rotator cuff injury.

Mission residents are down a donut option.

A sign in the window and an answering machine message on the phone line inform customers that Fluffy Fresh Donuts on Johnson Drive is closed “for an unknown time.”

“You’ve reached Fluffy Fresh Donuts on Johnson Drive in Mission,” says the voicemail message. “I’m closed right now for a rotator injury on my right shoulder and I’m not exactly sure when I’m going to be open back up again. Sorry for any inconvenience.”

A handwritten sign posted on the business glass door at 5729 Johnson Drive reveals the same:

A Johnson Drive fixture, Fluffy Fresh often boasts a line out the door early in the morning. The shop closes after the days fresh donuts have sold out — which is not too long after sunrise on busy days.

Owner Jim Hollinger could not be reached for comment.
