Prairie Village sets date for North Park planning open house. Prairie Village will invite residents to share their thoughts on what the new North Park on the site of the now-vacant Faith Lutheran Church at 67th Street and Roe should look like. A community open house is set for Tuesday, March 6 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Prairie Village Community Center across from city hall. City staff and planners from BBN Architects will be on hand to gather input from residents.

Supernaturals is a neo-funk soul band fronted by Bassel Almadani. The free concert will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 8 at Rolling Hills Presbyterian, 9300 Nall. Any donations collected will go to the group KC for Refugees.

Man pleads guilty to first degree murder charge in “She’s A Pistol” Shawnee gun store robbery case. DeAnthony Wiley on Tuesday pleaded guilty to first degree murder, conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery, aggravated batter and attempted aggravated robbery for his role in the botched “She’s A Pistol” gun store robbery that left Jon Bieker dead. A sentencing hearing is set for April 12. Three co-defendants have already pleaded guilty in the case.
