Shawnee Mission School District leaders next week will honor the more than two dozen students selected by the Shawnee Mission Area Council PTA to advance to the state level of a national program recognizing talented young artists.

The district will host a reception for the local winners of this year’s Reflections competition, which awards students who show outstanding skill in the visual, musical, performance and literary arts. This year’s Reflections call asked for students to create a work based on the theme “Within Reach.”
