Spotted in NEJC: A bald eagle for Presidents’ Day (plus more stately birds)

Bald eagles are now a not-too-uncommon site at Leawood’s City Park.

Dr. Carol Tucker was in the field last week and passed along a few great shots from trips to Leawood City Park and Shawnee Mission Park.

The bald eagle above was perched in a tree at Leawood City Park. Tucker also saw this blue heron there:

The Leawood City Park trip also yielded the shot of the brown creeper on the left below. On a trip to Shawnee Mission Park, she snapped a photo of a great horned owl:

Birds weren’t the only majestic sight she captured, though. Tucker shot this stunning sunrise photo at Shawnee Mission Lake.
