Shawnee Mission East’s dominance in the pool continued this weekend as the Lancers earned their fourth straight 6A boys swim and dive title at the state meet in Topeka.

The Lancers managed a 19 point victory over second place finisher Blue Valley North in the team standings despite not having any swimmer win an individual event. The Lancers did take first place in two relay events: the 400-yard freestyle, with seniors Elias Lowland, Aidan Holbrook and Evan Root and junior Sam Bruck; and the 200-yard freestyle, with Lowland, Holbrook, Root and junior P.J. Spencer.

The Lancers now have 16 boys swim and dive state titles, the most in Kansas history.

The win was the 12th title since coach Wiley Wright took over the program in 1985.
