Members of the Shawnee Mission School District community will learn the names of the finalist candidates for the district’s next superintendent on Friday — and will have the chance to meet the candidates in person on Saturday.
The district just issued the press release below with the latest on the hiring process:
On Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, the Shawnee Mission Board of Education will release the names of finalists for the open superintendent position in the Shawnee Mission School District. The candidates’ biographies, resumes and photographs will accompany the announcement.
The Shawnee Mission community is invited to meet the final candidates one at a time during a series of half-hour sessions beginning at 9 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 10, at district headquarters. Specific session times will be provided on Feb. 9.
Community members attending the Saturday sessions will be welcome to leave written comments about the candidates if they choose. Ray and Associates will receive the comments, and deliver them to board members. No board members will be present at the community sessions with the final candidates.
“On behalf of the board, we are looking forward to introducing the Shawnee Mission community to these exceptional candidates for our next superintendent,” said Brad Stratton, board president. “We continue to welcome input from our patrons as we move closer to making a final selection.”
