Sporting KC’s Swope Park Rangers club team will play 2018 games at Shawnee Mission South District Stadium. Area soccer fans won’t have to travel far to see some up-and-coming talent in action. The Swope Park Rangers, a club team affiliated with Sporting KC, announced that they’ll be playing their 2018 games at Shawnee Mission South District stadium. The teams first game there will be Saturday, March 24 against the Seattle Sounders FC 2. “We are excited to play our 2018 home matches at Shawnee Mission South District Stadium,” said Sporting KC president Jake Reid. “In our search for a facility that met U.S. Soccer Division II standards, this was the perfect fit right in the heart of our fan base.” The district just completed a major renovation of the stadium last year.
