Overland Park police on Saturday arrested a woman on felony theft charges after an investigation into suspicious sales of high-end cosmetics out of her home.

Police say they received several tips from members of the public about Yvette Elizabeth Shonk operating a “boutique” out of her home in the 7900 block of Antioch, where she sold high-end cosmetics at steep discounts. Upon executing a search warrant of the home this weekend, police recovered thousands of dollars worth of cosmetic products that they say had been shoplifted from stores in the Kansas City metro as well as Lawrence and Wichita.

Shonk was released from Johnson County jail Saturday on a $15,000 bond. She faces two counts of felony theft, and will make a first appearance in district court June 7.

Overland Park police are asking anyone with additional information about the case to contact their detective’s office at 913-344-8744.
