Prairie Village police search for man who forced his way into home after ringing doorbell, stealing many items


Prairie Village police this morning are asking for the public’s assistance in helping to locate a man who forced his way into a home Friday afternoon and then stole a number of items.

According to the victim, a man rang the doorbell on a home in the 5100 block of W. 75th Street around 2:10 p.m. Friday. When the victim opened the door, the suspect, described as a black male between 20 and 30 years old, forced his way into the home. The man, who was wearing dark pants and a royal blue tee, then started making his way through the house stealing various items. He forced the resident into a room of the house and then fled the scene.

Police say the man is approximately 6’02” with a muscular build and has short, buzzed hair.
