Kansas Council for Economic Education taps SM South’s Tony Budetti as educator of the year. Shawnee Mission South teacher Tony Budetti has been named Economic Educator of the Year by the Kansas Council for Economic Education. Waffle recall affects Shawnee Mission schools. A national recall of Aunt Jemima brand waffles due to concerns over possible Listeria contamination has led the school district to immediately discontinue their use in cafeterias. “The district immediately discontinued use of the product associated with the recall. All protocols and guidelines for handling recalls and discarding any remaining product have been followed,” the district said in a statement. “As a precaution, the district is sharing this information with parents. There have been no confirmed reports of injury or illness due to consumption of this product.”
