The wave of downtown Overland Park redevelopment continues.
Hunt Midwest on Tuesday held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new $49 million mixed-use development project at 80th and Marty. The project, which will be called The Vue, will feature a 219-unit luxury apartment complex above ground level retail. Hoefer Wysocki Architecture and McPherson Contractors are Hunt Midwest’s partners on the project.
Hunt Midwest said it was working to bring distinctive amenities to the apartment portion of the project, including a “resort-style pool and poolside bar,” a rooftop deck, a game room, a fitness center, and a clubhouse that can be reserved for private events and meetings.
“This project repurposes a previously underutilized site that will attract hundreds of new residents and patrons to support surrounding businesses,” said Overland Park Mayor Carl Gerlach in a statement. “While in the early stages of construction, we’re already seeing interest in The Vue – from Millennials to Baby Boomers—that is adding to the community’s excitement in historic Downtown Overland Park.”
The construction timeline has tentative completion for the project scheduled for late 2018.
