Shawnee Mission North grad Jazmin Williams impresses in freshman campaign at Emporia State. 2016 Shawnee Mission North graduate Jazmin Williams was the standout athlete at the first outdoor meet of the season for her Emporia State University team. Williams nailed a 19-06.00 foot long jump on her final attempt at the ESU Spring Invitational that made her a provisional qualifier for nationals. Mission council members file for new terms in fall election. Two sitting members of the Mission City Council have filed for this fall’s elections. Thomas Geraghty, MD, is a retired surgeon who was named to fill the remainder of Jason Vaughn’s term in Ward 1 after Vaughn moved out of the city last year. He’s seeking election to a new full term on the governing body. Ward 3 incumbent Debbie Kring has filed for reelection, as well. Kring has been on the Mission council since 1999.
