Leslie Brett and Chuck Matney are expanding their footprint in Westwood Hills.

The duo opened The Little Flower Shop in the Westwood Hills Shops at State Line Road and 50th Street in November 2014. Now, they’re in the process taking over the storefront next door, which most recently housed The Little Gallery Frame Shop.

The new store, to be called The Little Shop Next Door, will give the pair more room for the gift items, holiday decor and apparel they currently feature at the front of The Little Flower Shop.

“By creating The Little Shop Next Door, we can bring even more specially chosen items to our customers. Pajamas, purses, cuff links, cashmere scarves and cocktail napkins to name a few,” Brett said in a release.

Matney has been serving clients in northeast Johnson County with floral arrangement for decades, first at Matney Floral at the Fairway Shops for nearly 25 years, and then at The Little Flower Shop. He said the addition of the second store will allow for the original store to focus on flowers.

“At The Little Flower Shop, we’ll continue to do what we know best – fresh cut floral arrangements and customized floral designs for memorable events like birthdays, anniversaries, parties and weddings,” he said. “We, also, fill and deliver telephone and wire service orders as soon as we receive them.”

Brett and Matney plan to open the new store in April.
