Starting Monday, March 27, the Shawnee Mission Area Council PTA’s Clothing Exchange will have a new home.

As part of the district’s preparations to transform the Indian Creek Technology Center into the temporary home for Brookwood Elementary School while a new school is constructed, the Clothing Exchange, which has been operating out of the old Indian Creek gym for years, will relocate to the Broadmoor Center at 6701 W. 83rd Street.

The exchange, which provides district families with access to gently used shoes and clothing for people of all ages, will close at Indian Creek next Monday, March 20, and reopen Monday, March 27, in its new space.

As part of the program funded by the SMAC PTA, every child enrolled in the district can get five new pairs of socks and five new pairs of underwear each semester. Identification is required.

The exchange is open most Mondays from 9 to 11 a.m., though it occasionally offers evening hours as well.
