Brookwood sets date for Farewell Party. Current and former Brookwood families can get a final look at the original school building this spring before it is demolished to make way for a new facility on the same site. The Brookwood PTA will be hosting a Farewell Party Thursday, April 20 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. More information about the plans for building the new school can be found here.

Substate basketball play opens tonight, with Shawnee Mission East and Shawnee Mission North boys facing off. Northeast Johnson County rivals SM North and SM East will face off tonight in the first round of sub-state boys basketball play. The Lancers, seeded third in their sub-state bracket, will host the Indians at 7 p.m. The winner moves on to the sub-state championship Saturday. Girls play opens Thursday.
