The Mission City Council tonight will consider a Memorandum of Understanding on developer Tom Valenti’s latest plan for the Mission Gateway project. Valenti told the Shawnee Mission Post last week he hoped the new plan would allow him to begin building apartment buildings and retail along Johnson Drive by this spring.

Prairie Village City Council approves $66,000 information technology contract with county, weighs possibility of hiring its own IT specialist. The Prairie Village City Council approved a two-part contract totaling $66,000 with Johnson County to provide information technology services through July. While the city is satisfied with the IT infrastructure provided by the county, there have been problems with how the county has been responding to its day-to-day tech support needs, according to Wes Jordan, assistant city administrator. He suggested the city may want to hire its own tech support employee next year if the problem can’t be resolved.
