AARP Driver Safety Course being offered by Johnson County Parks and Recreation Department. The Johnson County Park and Recreation District is hosting a driver safety course for older drivers at the Matt Ross Community Center, 8101 Marty St., in Overland Park at 9 a.m. on Jan. 10 and Jan. 11. The cost for the two, four-hour sessions is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members payable at the door. Space is limited. Reserve your spot at least one week in advance by calling 913-831-3359 or register online here. Kansas insurance companies are required to offer a discount if presented with a certificate of completion of this AARP course.

Westwood holding Trash Disposal Amnesty Day. The first Wednesday after Christmas, Dec. 28 is Town & Country’s Amnesty Day in Westwood. During this pick-up day residents will be able to exceed the normal 96-gallon limit of bagged trash without having to purchase extra bag tags. The amnesty does not apply to bulk item pick-up.

Pawnee Elementary students to demonstrate dancing skills. Ballroom Dance Finale Pawnee Elementary students will take to the dance floor at 9 a.m. on Dec. 21 at the school, 9501 W. 91st. They will share their ballroom dancing skills with an audience after completing a several-week program that focuses on etiquette, physical fitness, and building character.
