Teams from all the Shawnee Mission School District high schools competed in a bake-off Friday at the The Broadmoor Bistro using original pie recipes for their entries. The winner of the pie cook-off was the pumpkin pie prepared by the team from Shawnee Mission South, with Horizons High School placing a close second.

Westwood Planning Commission to review draft Master Plan tonight. The Westwood Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. at City Hall to discuss a draft master plan provided by Shockey Consulting. The proposed master plan’s call for parts of the city to be designated as potential sites for medium-density housing has spurred some opposition and helped prompt the formation of a neighborhood association.
