Bishop Miege has gone 37-2, including a perfect 13-0 in 2014, in the past three seasons with its only losses coming to Blue Valley, who went to state in Class 6A this year and last year.
The Stags, led by junior quarterback Carter Putz, averaged 48.6 points per game on offense. Putz threw for 3,264 yards and 50 touchdowns. Missouri-commit Jafar Armstrong finished his career with 45 career touchdown receptions, which broke Harrison Hill’s (Wichita Collegiate, 1993-96) and Kendall Fisher’s (Garden Plain, 2001-04) record of 42. Armstrong finished with 3,744 career receiving yards, only 95 shy of the record set by Aaron Wedel (Sacred Hart, 2004-07). Senior Landry Weber finished his senior season with 57 receptions for 1,160 yards and 20 touchdowns.
After Saturday’s 53-21 victory against Buhler a few took to Twitter to share their feelings about winning back-to-back-to-back titles.
Always buckle up:
