Mission Hills reopens 63rd Street after 10 months of work. Mission Hills has reopened 63rd Street to crosstown traffic after being closed since early January. Some finishing work still remains however. The sidewalk on the bridge is closed until stone work is completed. And beginning Monday, traffic on the bridge will be reduced to one lane for at least two weeks. The west bound lane of 63rd Street will be closed from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. weekdays to complete the installation of the stone cap on the north side of the bridge. Once the stonework on the north side is complete, crews will move to the south side of the bridge and the east bound lane of 63rd Street will be closed while that stone cap is installed. The city anticipates having all stonework along the roadway completed and the sidewalk open prior to Christmas.
