Last Week: 2-1
No. 6 Shawnee Mission North (6-4) at No. 2 Shawnee Mission East (9-1)
When these teams met in Week 5, a 77-26 SM East win, the Lancers put up 70 points in the first half. I don’t think 10 touchdowns are going to be scored by one side, but points will be put up. The biggest matchup is going to be Shawnee Mission North’s defense against SM East’s offense. If the Indians can make stops and stay in the game late, then they’ll have a chance to pull off the upset. Sunflower League historian Kevin Booker noted that Lancer coach Dustin Delaney is 17-0 in games against the rest of the Shawnee Mission School District.

Bishop Miege (9-1) at Louisburg (8-2)
The Stags topped Louisburg last year, a 42-6 win in district play at home. They’ll head south this time against a team that loves to pound the ball on the ground. Miege has done a good job this year stopping the run and Friday should be no different. The offense is too deep to stop as wide receivers Jafar Armstrong and Landry Weber have combined for 1,871 yards and 30 touchdowns.
