Shawnee Mission East bounced back from its first loss of the season by beating Shawnee Mission North 8-0 Thursday evening. With the win, the Lancers finished the regular season at 14-1-1, the best record in school history.
Senior Clayton Phillips had a hat trick to bring his season tally to 17 and tie Head Coach Jamie Kelly for the second-most goals in a season behind standout striker Tyler Rathbun. Juniors Max Maday, Cooper McCullough and Sam Thompson, and seniors Oliver Bihuniak and Will Krebs also scored. Junior goalkeepers Nick Gasperi and Collyn Lowry earned the shutout behind a solid defense.
