Winter_ClothesThe Shawnee Mission East SHARE Freshman Connection Winter Clothing Drive is this weekend. Donors are asked to bring cold-weather clothing items to the donation trailer in the south parking lot of SM East. It will be open 1-4 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The drive benefits the Shawnee Mission School District Clothing Center, which provides clothing and household items to needy school families.

Northeast Johnson County Chamber to host leadership alumni and welcoming event. The Northeast Johnson County Chamber of Commerce is welcoming its incoming Leadership Northeast 2017 class and alumni of the leadership program at a gathering next Thursday. The event will be from 4:30-6 p.m. at Conroy’s Westwood, 4730 Rainbow Blvd.

You can bring your unused or expired medications to the Prairie Village Police Department at 7710 Mission Rd. or the Price Chopper in Roeland Park at 4950 Roe Blvd. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Police chase ends in Merriam. Police from Independence, Mo., initiated pursuit of a stolen vehicle around 3 a.m. Wednesday that ended with the suspect abandoning the car after driving into Merriam.
