Roeland Park October calendar fills with chili fundraiser for R Park and return of Bark!toberfest

Roeland Park has a busy October ahead with two big community events scheduled.

First up is the return of Bark!toberfest – yes, it is Octoberfest for dogs – at R Park on Oct. 8. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with live performances by dogs and people, on-site adoptions, pet safety vendors, food and drinks. Everything people and dogs could want all in one place.

On Oct. 15, the action is about raising money for a picnic shelter at R Park. That is the night of the Chili and Country Music Jamboree from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Roeland Park Community Center. Different kinds of chili will be available along with beer, soft drinks and as the name implies, country music from the Miner’s Bluff Band.

The event is sponsored by the Citizens Fundraising Initiative for R Park. Adult tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Ages 3-10 are $8 in advance and $10 at the door.

Advance tickets are available here.
